Camping provides you with the ability to transform a space in nature into your own corner. North Wales is a perfect example of this, it is abundant with perfect little spots that anybody from anywhere in the world is able to turn into their own little corner of the world for a brief moment in time, camping in North Wales is a brilliant thing to do if you feel like you need a break from the hectic day to day life you’re going through, take a break, take control…

Aberafon

Let’s address the elephant in the room; this campground is in a lovely position on the Llyn Peninsula, 10 miles south of Caernarfon, wedged between the beach and the mountains, proving the old adage “location, location, location.” It seems like you’re descending into a hidden valley inside the mountains as you negotiate a steep, narrow road to the site, past the babbling brook near the amenities building. Drive through a covered games area and the owners’ beautiful home, past rows of white tourers, and down to a delightful coastal ‘Beach Field,’ a grassy spot so near to the water that it seems like you’re in it. It has 16 pitches with seven electric hook-ups and is only accessible by small cars.

An undisputed “Best Camping Spot” in Wales; located in the south-west corner of the Snowdonia National Park. This established location plays home to happy campers and plenty of wildlife alike, set amid 45 acres of its own natural forests and meadows and with magnificent views over the Mawddach Estuary curving down to Cardigan Bay below.  ‘Most Sustainable Campsite from the Green Snowdonia Awards and, ‘Best Camping and Glamping Site’ from Go North Wales are all accolades that this site holds high but despite its accolades, is a delightfully quiet and unassuming place to stay.

Greener Glamping

This two-yurt glamping property is totally off the grid and a kilometre from the closest neighbours. This is a popular boast these days, but it’s particularly true here at Greener Glamping since Nathan and Shayne don’t simply provide this lifestyle for their glampers; they live it themselves. Any energy utilised is renewable, and the water is sourced from a mountain spring. Despite our previous assertions, there isn’t anything in it; at least, not the good stuff. The water in this area is as clean as it is following the filtration and UV treatment mandated by the government. There’s no need to bring a bottle of Evian, and there’s little need to bring anything else.
