Just off the coast of Pembrokeshire, is a small island called Caldey Island with a recorded history going back over 1,500 years the castle is home to a modest 40 people who live their permanently. Caldey Island makes a wonderful place for a day trip. If you’re feeling like speeding things up a notch from one of Britain’s few holy islands to Oakwood Theme Park, Wales’ biggest theme park, featuring over 40 rides. The theme park goes back to 1987 when they opened at the time as a small family fun park they only featured a water slide, a wooden fort, go-karts and a 3D style cinema experience. Now, they boast an impressive 40 individual rides at their theme park and are proud to be called Wales’ biggest theme park.
