In May 2022 it was announced that Birmingham-born Alpesh had been awarded the Italian Music Critics’ prize for the Best Conductor of the Year. Still in his 30’s, he is wowing musicians all over the world already, and they are very excited to welcome him to Aberystwyth.
The main work in the first half of the concert will be Elgar’s Cello Concerto, that profound and brooding masterpiece, with soloist Guy Johnston, 2000 BBC Young Musician of the Year. The second half showcases the orchestra’s luscious sound in Brahms’ 4th Symphony.
There will seldom be chances to hear anything like this concert anywhere, let alone in Aberystwyth. A lot of people will want to be there. Make a date now!
