Following a scaled-down programme in 2021 they are excited to welcome audiences back to a full Festival of music, history and culture this August.
The programme includes the 2022 Glyndŵr Award, their annual Hallstatt Lecture; the ever-popular male voice choir concert, an African night, and a superb Festival Finale.
A warm welcome to the 2022 Machynlleth Festival. It is traditional that the first three days of the Festival has a Welsh flavour.
They start the week off with the Cymanfa Ganu on the first Sunday, before welcoming the Kwok Family for the mid-Day Concert on Monday. The three Kwok sisters will bring the place down with their sensational programme on the piano. The three are well known in Wales, having won major prizes at their National Eisteddfodau.
Monday night sees three soloists coming together to give y’all a night to remember. Robyn Lyn, Gwawr Edwards, and Trystan Lewis are all three National winners, and promise a night not to miss. This year they have included a late night concert on Monday night in the company of harpist Siân James, who joins in with a candlelit program of traditional folk music.
Ben Dant returns for the lunch time Children’s concert on Tuesday, to share tales of his adventures on the Seven Seas. Tuesday night sees the return of Cantorion Gogledd Cymru under the baton of Aled Edwards together with Steffan Lloyd Owen and Aneira Evans.
The two late-night candle-lit concerts on Friday and Saturday evening have quickly become popular, and this year they feature the fabulous Lourdes Fernández dance company and the glorious sound of Elysium Brass.
Lourdes and her dancers will also be giving a free Flamenco masterclass in the town for all to enjoy.
