At the heart of this year’s festival they are celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Wales Coastal Path (WCP). Their first weekend offers the chance to walk the entire Gower section of the WCP, from Penclawdd to Mumbles (over forty miles), in two days. Over the course of the nine days, more than half of their walks will be on the coastal path.
They are also delighted to be partnering with walk · listen · create – home of walking artists and artist walkers with two great opportunities. From August to the end of September, you can submit a poem or flash fiction inspired by your coastal walks to Shorelines (with an opportunity of winning a prize). And during the week of the festival, on Wednesday 7th September, they are hosting with Walk-Listen-Create – Shoreline Stories, an online creative writing workshop with El Rhodes.
Walking is recognised as benefiting not only your physical health, but also your mental health. Walking gives you time to think, enjoy nature, and explore new landscapes. They have a wonderful team of volunteer walk leaders ready to share with you their knowledge of the special landscapes here on Gower and surrounding area.
Before booking, please read the How to Book Page, which includes their important T&Cs. Some of their walks are dog-friendly, and the variety of walks on offer ensures there is something for all, from those who prefer a gentle stroll to the serious long-distance walker.
Hope you enjoy this programme of walks exploring the UK’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Time to get your boots on!
