Y Galeri was founded in 2012 as a contemporary art gallery in Caerphilly’s St Fagans Street, and it is managed as a limited company with a board of six directors. When the three-year contract ended, it was simply by chance that space inside the Visit Caerphilly Centre became available. This was an excellent location since it was in the centre of town and had magnificent views of the majestic Castle. The new gallery opened on April 17, 2015.
The exhibition space is complemented with a selection of unique and handmade modern arts and crafts concepts from a variety of outstanding Welsh producers, including jewellery, pottery, glass, wood, and textiles.
