If you’re visiting Wrexham for the first time, the 16th century gothic Parish Church of St Giles, Wales’ biggest mediaeval church, whose bell tower dominates the skyline, will most certainly fascinate you. Visitors may climb up to the church roof for a bird’s-eye view, which is open all year (must be booked in advance). The tomb of Elihu Yale, a local benefactor, may be found inside the church grounds, to the south of the tower. Yale was the most generous supporter of the university that bears his name. In actuality, a copy of the structure may be found on the campus of Yale University, and it appears briefly in the film Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
