Ramsey Island is home to one of the UK’s largest Atlantic Grey Seal colonies. Hundreds of seal pups are born on Ramseys beaches from late August to October.
Ramsey Sound has some of the fastest currents in the UK. At certain states of the tide you can watch the Harbour Porpoise feed.
Join them on a trip offshore. Keep your eyes open, you may see Common dolphins or Rissos dolphins on your way to see the spectacular Gannet colony on the RSPB island of Grassholm. Grassholm is home to over 37,000 pairs of breeding gannets. For the lucky one you may see a sighting of a whale.

Thousand Islands wildlife adventure boat trips have been operating since 1975. They have the sole landing rights to Ramsey Island RSPB Nature Reserve. The Ramsey Island ferry boat runs twice a day on Sunday to Thursday (closed Friday and Saturday). The ferry boat departs at 10.00 and 12.00 from 1st April to 31st October. Ramsey Island is a special protection area for families of Chough, watch them feed in the short grassland.
In Spring the islands coastline is alive with hundred of nesting seabirds. Guillimots, Razorbills and Fulmar nest on the hundred metre high cliffs. Watch Peregrine Falcons and Chough fly overhead.
Boat trips leave from the RNLI Lifeboat Station at St Justinians which is also an interesting place to visit.
Their boat trip office is situated in the centre of St Davids, the smallest City in Britain. They are in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in Wales.
