When you arrive at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, you are warmly welcomed at check-in by the friendly team before proceeding to get kitted up with a harness, helmet, and goggles, along with receiving a comprehensive safety briefing. As this is an outdoor adventure, appropriate attire for the weather is advised, and it’s important to note that loose accessories like scarves are not permitted on the zip line.

Next, visitors hop aboard the iconic ex-army trucks for a 20-minute journey to the top of Penrhyn Quarry mountain. During this ascent, you have the opportunity to view the quarry from various angles and enjoy the stunning sunset as they travel up the 3km track. At the mountain’s summit, you can take in the breathtaking Eryri (Snowdonia) views, comparable in height to the Empire State Building, and capture some memorable selfies.

Following another crucial safety briefing, you will move to the Skyline building, which features a roaring log fire during colder months. When it’s time, you are connected to the zip line, and with a thrilling countdown of 3, 2, 1, you will be released, soaring above the quarry lake. Reaching speeds of up to 100mph, experiencing the exhilaration of flight, gliding side-by-side with friends or family on the world’s fastest zip line.

At the end of the zip line, you’ll reach the braking system which will bring you to a stop, and then you’ll have a short walk back along a well-lit path, down to the main reception building where your journey began.
