Rhymney Brewery has adopted the most well-known brand in Welsh brewing to emphasise the fact that they are reintroducing old-fashioned flavours utilising contemporary techniques and organic natural ingredients. Our beer has lost its regional flavour across the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, there aren’t many small independent brewers left in South Wales.
Although the Rhymney name was dropped when the Brewery was purchased by Whitbread, Rhymney will live on in the memories as a remembrance of the good old days of well-loved local beers. ‘The Best’ was more than just an advertising slogan for Rhymney beer in the South Wales region; it was a statement of truth. Today, there are just a few local brewers remaining to provide us with their distinct tang, to remind us of a time when ale didn’t taste like beer bags dipped in lukewarm water. In Wales, good beer is very important.
