Frogmore House, located in Windsor Home Park approximately half a mile to the south of Windsor Castle, was always a Royal Residence since 1792. Since Queen Charlotte bought Frogmore House in 1790, the gardens have been a popular destination for monarchs with their families. The home was utilised by Queen Charlotte and their unmarried daughters as a rural retreat. They used Frogmore as a “refuge” from court life, where they could indulge in their hobbies of “painting, sketching, needlework, japanning, reading, and ‘botanising’.” A number of rooms in Frogmore show the Queen’s interest in botany, including one adorned with painted florals by the painter Mary Moser.
Pennard Golf Club
For over 100 years golfers have enjoyed the beautiful links course and warm hospitality that Pennard has to offer. Founded in 1896 the Club has a proud heritage and today is a private members’ club with an unassuming style, which conceals a very special place for both members and visitors to enjoy the game we love.
