The remains of what was originally Morlais Castle, built-in 1270 by Gilbert de Clare, Earl of Gloucester and Lord of Glamorgan, extend along the right-hand side of the third fairway and overlook the border between Brecon and Glamorgan.
It is a tough moorland golf course with spectacular vistas nestled in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons. It’s about a 24-mile drive north of Cardiff. Both low and high handicap golfers will love Morlais Castle Golf Club.
The race is divided into two sections, each with spectacular vistas of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The opening nine holes are centred on an old quarry, while the back nine are located on rolling moorland. The Morlais experience is completed by a contemporary clubhouse and indoor practise facility, as well as the warmest of greetings.
Morlais Castle Golf Club has changed dramatically during the last century. We now have a course and clubhouse to be proud of, as well as the amenities that they provide to members and visitors. Morlais Castle Golf Club has always been known for being welcoming to anyone who seeks its company, both on and off the course.
