Margam Park is a Grade I listed garden and landscape with magnificent trees, shrubs, and flowers, classic and contemporary landscaping, lakes, and lengthy views that have developed since mediaeval times.
When the Authority bought the Park in 1973, most of the structure and surrounding grounds were in disrepair, and considerable work has been done since then. The Orangery, which has just been renovated, adds to the estate’s diverse array of structures. Many unusual plants and shrubs may be seen in the Orangery grounds, including many big Tulip Trees, a Cork Oak, and a very large cut-leaved Beech.
The Broadwalk Steps are bordered by magnificent rhododendron, which Frank Kindon-Ward brought to the park, and nearby you will find the fascinating Bamboo Collection and a Japanese Garden.
