In normal times, the Cathedral is open to visitors daily from 9.00am, except Sundays when it opens at 7.00am, and closes following the last service of the day. There is usually a Welcomer in the Cathedral from 10am to 4pm to greet visitors, and information sheets, which includes a self-guided walk for visitors to explore the Cathedral at their own leisure, are provided. Guidebooks giving greater detail about the history, architecture and art of the Cathedral can be purchased in the Cathedral Shop.

Mission Statement

Llandaff Cathedral is a Christian gathering of the Church in Wales, which is a province of the worldwide Anglican Communion. It is also the seat of the Bishop of Llandaff. The Cathedral is a focus of pilgrimage and spirituality in the Diocese of Llandaff and for the City of Cardiff. Their purpose is therefore to worship God and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. In so doing, they welcome all who come here, irrespective of gender, race, creed or sexuality, in order that they might share and pass on our rich Christian heritage and the joy of Christian faith.
