Gelligaer is an old town with a Roman history that was unknown until Edwardian archaeologists began excavating Gaer Fawr and Gaer Fach and discovered a Roman Fort under the grass.
Gelligaer is presenting the tale of the Romans in the Valleys of South Wales anew in 2010, almost 2000 years after the Romans and Silure fought across these hills. Why not come and see this town, which has a history dating back to prehistory and a legacy waiting to be discovered.
