Ffotogallery has been at the forefront of new advances in photography and lens-based media in Wales and worldwide since its inception in 1978, increasing public understanding of and deeper involvement with photography and its societal importance.
This is accomplished by:
Exhibitions, print and online publishing initiatives, and projects that represent the photographic medium’s evolution and position in the world. Commissioning and presenting young and established artists’ work, as well as cross-disciplinary practise that reacts to the medium’s changing nature.
Diffusion: Cardiff International Festival of Photography is a biennial event that I organise. To enhance practise, knowledge exchange, and appreciation, learning tools are being developed, as well as speeches and events, courses, and workshops. Providing a creative studio and digital workspace for independent artists, collaborative groups, and international artists on the move. Preserving and creating new archive resources, as well as developing a new library to make them accessible to the public. Internships, volunteerism, and skill-building opportunities are available across the organization’s work.
