The owl sanctuary in Festival Park was founded in 1998 with the goal of rehabilitating and caring for wounded, abandoned, and uncared for wild owls, hawks, and falcons until they can be released back into the wild. Some of the birds are unable to be released owing to being bred in captivity, being non-native species, or being damaged in a way that prevents them from being released, therefore they remain with us at the sanctuary.
