CIWW is home to the UK’s first on-demand Olympic level White Water Rafting and Indoor Wave facility, which is located in the heart of the International Sports Village in Cardiff.
Cardiff International White Water is the ideal venue to take on a challenge, seek adventure, or simply revel in sheer thrill, with white water and flat water fun for all. Whether you stay on-site or take part in one of their popular off-site activities like Gorge Walking, they can guarantee you an unforgettable day out.
The 250-meter white water course is suitable for rafts, canoes, and kayaks, and it can pump up to 16 cubic metres of water every second, which is the equivalent of 80 bathtubs! They may change the course’s flow and water level to accommodate everyone from beginners to specialists.
The Flow Rider Indoor Wave Simulator machine, located at CIWW, allows you to ride water jets on a bodyboard. Friends and family can show off their skills together thanks to the double lane design, which allows two people to bodyboard at the same time.
With a wide range of family-friendly activities available both on and off the water, keep kids and teens energised and involved throughout the year. Allow them to pick up a new skill, take on a new challenge, get some exercise, and most importantly, create memories!
Improving your water abilities and honing your technique will help you become a better paddler and increase your pleasure in your favourite water sport. They provide courses ranging from their popular Paddle School to the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Awards as a recognised centre of excellence for training. Paddle Taster Sessions are also a fantastic way to evaluate if an activity “floats your boat” before committing to a course.
They aren’t only crazy about white water rafting; their on-site café provides the ideal vantage position for viewing all of the action without ever sinking a toe in the water! Whether you’re watching, relaxing, or refuelling, the café is accessible to the public from 10 a.m. daily and serves a variety of drinks and freshly prepared seasonal fare.
The café, which was refurbished in 2016, is located on the top level of CIWW and features a spacious balcony with plenty of seats. This is the spot to go to obtain an unrivalled perspective of the course, hold an event, or have a children’s party, rain or shine.
